Where our data comes from
Every recall on RecallCheckr comes straight from a U.S. federal safety agency. We pull the data daily, organize it so you can actually search it, and link back to the official notice on every page. We do not write the recalls ourselves.
CPSC
Consumer products: toys, electronics, furniture, baby gear, appliances and more.
Official CPSC recallsFDA
Food, drugs, and medical devices, with the agency's Class I / II / III classification.
Official FDA recallsHow often we update
A scheduled job checks the agencies for new recalls every day and adds them automatically. The date on each recall is the date the agency published it.
Accuracy and corrections
We present the agencies' data faithfully and do not change their wording. Because the data comes directly from the government, on rare occasions a record may contain an error at the source, such as a hazard description attached to the wrong product.
For that reason, every recall page links to the official agency notice. Always confirm the details there before acting. If you spot something that looks wrong, let us know and we will review it against the source.
RecallCheckr is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any U.S. government agency.
